Flat Bridge (Does not resemble a major metropolitan bridge).  Overuse of Glue and Toothpicks

Excessive us of glue.  Toothpicks are arranged erratically.

Resemblance to a major bridge.  Glue used excessively

Resemblance to a major bridge.  Very clean joints and supports.

Engineering

(20 Points)

Flat Bridge, Very Weak, No cross bracing

Bridge does not have a sub-structure or super-structure.  Over use of toothpicks (steel). Bracing does not aid to support.

Bridge uses sub-structure/Super-structure, but appears to have weak joints.

Bridge uses sub-structure/Super-structure.  Structure appears to be strong.  Uses appropriate amount of toothpicks (steel).

 

Specs: (20 points)

Weight limit:  40 grams.                      (-1) for every 10 grams over.

Roadbed must be 40mm x 40 mm.        (-4) for missing or small roadbed

Must provide space for hook (15mm x 15 mm)         (-4) for no hole

Toothpicks may not be coated or sprayed with glue or any other substance        (-10) for covered in glue or spray.
